
26 HR ALF CORE Training Course (Sessions W/ Four Zoom Trainer Sessions)

The 26 hour Assisted Living Facility Core Training is designed for prospective assisted living facility administrators in preparation of taking the state-mandated competency exam and meets the requirements in Florida Statute 429.52 and Florida Administrative Code 59A-36.011.
Completion of the required 26 hours of course work and a score of 75% or higher on the Practice Exam is required to earns a "Certificate of Completion" and eligibility to take the Core Competency Exam.
The course consists of twelve modules. Each module begins with a review of specific regulations and proceeds to the colorful audio/visual display of content. The module concludes with a "Review Check" at the end of each module and a final practice exam. The format and test are similar to the Core Competency Exam provided by the State of Florida and approved by Elder Affairs. The practice exam was developed to prepare you for the Core Comprehensive test. Within the course, you will find a study guide. This can be printed from the website or a copy mailed to you for an additional charge. Facility forms and resources are included in the course.

Upon completion of the online or in-person training, students must register with The MacDonald Research Institute (TMRI) to take the Core Competency Exam. The exam fee is $200 payable to TMRI. To access the TMRI exam schedule or for information about core test reviews, click this link.
Note: While this course is designed to prepare the student for taking the ALF Core Competency exam. There is no guarantee that completion of the course will result in passing the exam. Responsibility lies with the student to diligently study and prepare for the exam.
